The fiber optic splicer is capable of handling various types of fibers, including single-mode (G652), multi-mode (G651), dispersion-shifted (G653), non-zero dispersion-shifted (G655), and bend-insensitive (G657) fibers. It can perform splicing on a single fiber core at a time with precise core, cladding, and manual alignment.

The splicing modes available include auto, calibration, normal, and special, each with its own set of parameters. The typical splice loss for different fiber types is as follows: 0.02dB for single-mode, 0.01dB for multi-mode, 0.04dB for dispersion-shifted, and 0.04dB for non-zero dispersion-shifted fibers.

The typical welding time for a standard single-mode fiber is 9 seconds, while the typical heating time is 18 seconds. The splicer offers 100 user-defined modes and 53 factory-defined modes for the splicing procedure, as well as 40 user-defined modes and 11 factory-defined modes for the heating program.

The heating control method can be set to automatic or manual, and the splicer can store up to 10,000 groups of fusion results, each containing 26 parameters, as well as 100 groups of image storage. The pull test range is 1.96 to 2.25N.

The splicer features a USB external interface and has an electrode life of 5,000 times. It offers fiber magnification options of 360X and 180X, and the monitor is a 5-inch color display.
